Mentorship

Mentorship provides an opportunity for BCBA members of IdABA to expand their knowledge and skills through monthly virtual group meetings led by appointed BCBA’s.

The following outlines the mentorship agreement between the mentors and mentees: 

Mentors Expectations

  • Mentors agree that they will hold and maintain their BCBA credential, that they are in good standing with the BACB and IdABA membership, and have held the credential for 2 years or more.  

  • Mentors agree to only mentor in areas in which they are competent. (Code 1.05)

  • Mentors agree to a 1 year minimum commitment, missing no more than 3 consecutive meetings.  

  • Mentors can provide resources including books, articles, websites, etc…for the mentee. 

  • Mentors agree mentorship is not considered fieldwork supervision, continuing education, or professional consultation nor meet any BACB requirements.

  • Mentors agree to follow the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (Code).

  • Mentors agree to protect confidential information as found in the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (Code) 2.03 and 2.04.

If mentors do not meet expectations outlined above, their involvement may be terminated from this committee by the IdABA Board.

Mentees Expectations

  • Mentees agree that they will hold and maintain a BACB credential (RBT, BCaBA, BCBA) and that they are in good standing with the BACB and IdABA membership.

  • Mentees agree to a 1 year minimum commitment, missing no more than 3 consecutive meetings.  

  • Mentees agree that mentorship is not considered fieldwork supervision, continuing education, professional consultation nor meet any BACB requirements. 

  • Mentees agree to follow the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (Code.

  • Mentees agree to protecting confidential information as found in the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts (Code) 2.03 and 2.04.

  • Mentees agree to become and remain an active member of IdABA for the duration of mentorship.

If mentees do not meet expectations outlined above, their involvement may be terminated from this committee by the IdABA Board.
